Keyboards treat the edge break as damage control.
A necessary transition between two surfaces to be filed down to the smallest edges as a background piece that sets the stage.
Optica believes that this edge is not a defect to minimise, but the only place where light dances on its geometry most vividly.
The top view remains static, with its side edge breaks twisting out of its expected lines, carrying light along the different angles you view it from.
Instead of "make this edge softer" or "make this chamfer less obvious", this is an edge break that makes the silhouette and changes the form with different angles.
Less visual quiet, more presence.
A keyboard sitting on a desk for years shouldn't just be a static monolith.
The side profile plays on tradition, twisting the top chamfer into a bevel that sweeps across the front face of the keyboard.
Flowing into a front accent that is supported by a gentle transition from the desk.
As you view Optica from the front, the bezels become deceptively thin as it leads your eyes into the curved lip.
